Express Vending are a leading vending machine supplier of high quality coffee machines and vending services within London and the UK.  They operate vending machines across more than 4000 sites in London, and pride themselves on delivering high standards and meeting a wide variety of different business’s needs.

Challenge

Safeguarding your network and emails from a security breach is paramount to all organisations. Express Vending wanted to take extra precaution and make their email accounts more secure by adding an additional layer of security – the solution being Two Factor Authentication (2FA).

Solution

T-Tech recommended this solution which not only requires a password and username, but also something that is personal to each individual user, i.e. a piece of information only they should know. This makes it a lot harder for a potential hacker to gain access and steal that user’s personal data or identity. It works by requiring any two or more of the following verification methods:

  • A randomly generated pass code
  • A phone call
  • A smart card (virtual or physical)
  • A biometric device

T-Tech’s responsibility in this project was to deliver a solution that would allow up to 196 users to log in with Microsoft Azure’s Two Factor Authentication.

Outcome

The project ran smoothly and has delivered the following benefits to Express Vending:

  • Improved security, so decreased risk of a hack or breach
  • 2FA is supported on all devices, so that extra security is unlimited
  • Increased flexibility as more trust to work remotely
  • Reduces operational costs of having to ask service desk to change passwords

Express Vending users all now have 2FA set up as they log into emails, giving them that extra level of security and reassurance.
